Greetings fellow Art and Design School Division members! We’d like to introduce ourselves, Christine Mannix- Vice Moderator and Kimberly Lesley- Moderator.
I’ve been the Public Services Librarian at the Columbus College of Art & Design for four years now. Since we’re a small library, I do a little bit of everything, like library instruction, circulation, reference, and ILL, but my favorite work involves being the Grand Poobah of Special Collections. My B.A. is in history of art from The Ohio State University where I wrote my honors thesis on self-taught artist, William L. Hawkins. When I’m not at work I’m often at my kitchen table making collages, prints, narrative quilts, and artists’ books. Basically, if I don’t make art, I start to gnaw off my arm.

I am the Access Services Librarian at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where I offer research instruction, provide reference services, supervise circulation as well as organize and participate in outreach. I’ve been in this position going on two years, and I particularly enjoy working with the students here. I earned my B.F.A. in photography (film, anyone?) from Herron School of Art & Design, Indiana University. When I’m not digging around in my garden with my helper cat, or hanging upside down at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, I’m headed somewhere on my bike.
Thanks for reading!
